The more, the merrier!
Widen your social circle and meet new friends at these great activities or fun group
events
By April Zara Chua
These days, SDNTrust accredited agencies are offering a more casual and relaxed
approach to getting like-minded people to meet and form meaningful and genuine connections.
Activity-based events focus on injecting elements of fun and purpose to each gathering.
Fabrique Love, an SDNTrust accredited agency, offers five different types: outdoors,
games, chill-out, overseas and volunteering events.
Gina Lee, Events Manager at Fabrique Love, cites its outdoor events as one of the
company’s most popular offerings. “People are thinking more about their
health nowadays, and many are looking for good outdoor activities to try out. Our
trail outings double up as an opportunity for them explore new areas in Singapore
while meeting new people,” she says.
The agency has also started collaborating with various partners such as the People's
Association to organise meaningful volunteering events. “Participants find
it more enjoyable when there is a purpose to the activity. At the same time, they
get to create more meaningful shared experiences with other participants,”
she adds.
With more options available, it’s now much easier to take that proactive step
to widening your social circle!
Perks of activity-based group events
- You will have the opportunity to meet a lot of new people in a single event. Most
group events will include an icebreaker activity and group rotations to allow all
participants to get acquainted.
- It is less stressful and awkward compared to a one-to-one meeting. Since it’s
a group, you won’t be put in the spotlight the entire time. Once you’re
at ease, you’ll be able to have better conversations!
- You can get acquainted without the intimidating atmosphere of being on a date. Without
the added pressure of trying to impress the other person, you’ll be more relaxed
and can just be yourself.
- You’ll gain experience from the activity and form meaningful friendships after
your shared experiences.
