For Dating Agencies
- The applicant agency must be a bona fide dating agency1 that is legally registered with the Government of Singapore.
- The applicant agency must be in the business2 of providing dating services to singles comprising at least 70% Singapore Citizen or Singapore Permanent Resident and not more than 30% Employment Pass 3 holders.
- At least one of the Directors must be a Singapore Citizen or Singapore Permanent Resident residing in Singapore. See details below:-
Company Type:
a) Sole Proprietor - The owner must be a Singapore Citizen or Singapore Permanent Resident residing in Singapore;
b) Partnership/LLP/Limited Partnership - At least one of the partners must be a Singapore Citizen or Singapore Permanent Resident residing in Singapore; or
c) Private Limited Company / Public-owned Company (e.g. Listed on SGX) - At least one of the Directors must be a Singapore Citizen or Singapore Permanent Resident residing in Singapore. The Key Manager must be a Singapore Citizen or Singapore Permanent Resident residing in Singapore.
- At least one of the Agency owners / Directors / Key Managers must receive the Statement of Attainment (S.O.A.) for SDN prescribed competency units under the Workforce Development Agency (WDA) Workforce Skills Qualifications (WSQ) Framework 4. See details below:-
Company Type:
a) Sole Proprietor - The Owner must complete the required course(s);
b) Partnership/LLP/Limited Partnership - At least one of the Partners must complete the required course(s); or
c) Private Limited Company / Public-owned Company (e.g. Listed on SGX) - At least one of the Directors and the Key Managers must complete the required course(s)5.
Agency owners / Directors / Key Managers:
- must be of good reputation, character, and possess the orientation towards accountability, sound business and corporate governance principles, and alignment to SDN’s objectives of upholding the integrity and professionalism of the local dating industry;
- must be at least 21 years of age;
- must declare if they have other businesses related to the dating industry;
- must declare if they currently involved in litigation or criminal suits;
- must not have any criminal record6 ;
- must declare if they are in the process of winding up, liquidation or bankruptcy;
- must not be undischarged bankrupts6 ;
- must not have unsecured debts and liabilities of more than 3 months of last-drawn pay; and
- must not have signed a promissory note or an acknowledgment of indebtedness.
- The Agency must have at least one SDNTrust certified 7; dating practitioner under its lawful employment.
- The Agency must have a physical office.
Applicants may apply in writing with strong justifications for the waiver of the criteria stated above. The Secretariat may grant the waiver based on the merits of each case, subject to the compliance of the SDNTrust Accreditation’s Code of Professional Conduct, and Criteria and Standards.
7;A certified dating practitioner is defined as any person who directly engages in the provision of dating service to clients and meets the following:
a) Receives the Statement of Attainments (S.O.A.s) for SDN’s prescribed competency units under the Workforce Development Agency (WDA) Workforce Skills Qualification (WSQ) framework, namely for the “Provide Personalised Dating Services” and “Organise a Dating Business” course;
b) Abide by the Codes and Standards of the accreditation framework, and that there were not more than 3 valid complaints received within a year.
